In this video, I show you how to replace the crank angle sensor, on a Jaguar XJ40 3.6 . This process may also suit the 2.9, 3.2 and 4 litre models, also. On the 3.6, the sensor is mounted to a bracket which takes a reading from the reluctor ring, mounted to the crank pulley.
